Five of a family tested H1N1 positive in Lucknow

"Around 50 samples were sent to the Sanjay Gandhi Post
Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences of which 11 have been
tested positive yesterday," Head of SGPGI Microbiology
department TN Dole told agency.

He said that the reports had been sent to the Chief
Medical Officer and that 30 more samples were being tested at
SGPGIMS.

With 11 new cases, the number of cases of swine flu
patients detected in the state since August 8 touched 12.

The first case was reported from Lucknow, wherein
eight-year-old Hasan Rizvi, who is grandson of former minister
returned from UK a few days back and was tested positive.

Health department officials said that samples of Hasan`s
family members were taken, of which five were tested positive
with H1N1 viral infection.

Three cases were detected in other parts of the state.

"Majority of the patients are those who have returned
from abroad recently," a senior health department official
said and claimed that all patients had been detected with
primary infection and were under treatment.

"There is no need to get panic as the situation is
totally under control," the health officials said.
