Official emissary, R. R. Gopal left for the forests on Monday evening for the third round of negotiations with forest brigand, Veerappan. Gopal claims that he is confident of bringing the abducted film star, Rajkumar back with him this time.

In accordance with the brigand’s demands, Gopal is carrying with him all documents and details affirming the release of the 121 TADA detainees. He also takes with him a copy of the government order, which confirms the creation of a corpus fund of Rs 10 crore (equally shared by the Karnataka and Tamil Nadu governments) towards compensation for the alleged victims of STF atrocities.
Meanwhile, several Kannada film stars are camping in Mysore to provide surety, if required, to the 51 TADA detainees who were released on conditional bail by a Mysore Court on Monday.
