Hamilton euphoric after pole in Belgian GP

Lewis Hamilton struggled to find words for his euphoria on Saturday after roaring to pole position at one of the sport`s most exhilarating circuits.

Spa-Francorchamps, Sept 06: Lewis Hamilton struggled to find words for his euphoria on Saturday after roaring to pole position at one of the sport's most exhilarating circuits.
"Here, being probably the most incredible circuit for me on the grand prix calendar, when you put a lap together that's clean, smooth, flowing...it really feels incredible," said McLaren's championship leader.

"You have to make sure that you have the right car and the right set-up and it's easy to push too much in one corner and struggle on the way out of another."

"I can't explain to you just how great it is," added the Briton, whose favourite circuit remains Monaco's far slower street layout.

Hamilton's delight contrasted with his reaction to finishing runner-up in the previous European Grand Prix in Valencia, a race widely panned for being processional and without overtaking.

The 23-year-old told reporters at Brands Hatch last weekend that the sport could be a bit dull, and he clarified his comments on Saturday.

"Perhaps for the spectators its boring because there's no overtaking," he said.

"I never particular feel it's ever boring in the car because you are always trying to improve, you are always challenged in the car. It's never easy."

"Whether or not you are first or second, or at the back, you are always chasing something so I never find it boring," said Hamilton.

"What I was meaning was that sometimes it is boring because we don't do any overtaking," added the winner of four races so far this year.

"I remember watching Formula One before I got here and some races were boring to watch, you'd fall asleep. I'm sure some people did in the last race but hopefully next year it will be more exciting."
