London, March 17: Pop legend Sir Paul McCartney's
estranged wife Heather Mills has been awarded a whopping 24.3
million pounds (over Rs 198 crore) divorce settlement on Monday.
Speaking outside London's High Court, Mills said she was
"glad it's over" and "it was an incredible result to secure
mine and my daughter's future".
As part of the deal, Mills will receive 14 million pounds
for herself and 2.5 million pounds to buy a house in London.
The London High Court also awarded Mills assets worth 7.8
million pounds.
The couple failed to reach an agreement in court last
month, leaving the judge to determine the final figure.
Mills, 40 married Sir Paul, 65, in June 2002, four years
after the death of his first wife Linda from breast cancer.
Sir Paul is estimated to be worth 825 million pounds.
The couple, who have a four-year-old daughter Beatrice,
announced the end of their marriage in 2006.
