Kullu, March 30: The BJP government has given its go-
ahead to party MP and actress Hema Malini to start a classical
dance school in the state.
It has also approved a proposal of Punjabi singer hans
Raj Hans to set up a vocal music training school.
The government has suggested that Malini set up her dance
school in Kullu, CM PK Dhumal said at a function
at Naggar in the district today to celebrate birth centenary
of renowned film actress of yesteryear Devika Rani Roerich.
He invited russian participation in art, culture, tourism
and hydro power sectors and urged Russian Ambassador VI
Trukinikov to be the state's ambassador for promotion of
culture and tourism.
Dhumal said late Devika Rani, the great grand daughter of
Nobel laureate Rabindra Nath Tagore, broke the myth of male
dominance in the bollylwood film industry.
Trukinikov said the birth centenary of the wife of
eminent painter late Sevetrolar Roerich, who settled in Naggar
in Kullu valley, was also being celebrated in russia.
