Mumbai, May 05: India's Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd. (500186.BY), a private company that provides geological services to oil companies, said it has discovered oil in an exploration block off the Cauvery coast in the southern state of Tamil Nadu.
In a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange, Hindustan Oil said the initial oil flow from the well, PD-3-S, is 3,000 barrels a day.
The oil well is being drilled by a consortium in which Hindustan Oil has a 21% stake.
