Huge cache of explosives recovered in Assam

Rangiya (Assam): A huge cache of explosives were recovered from a bus during routine checking from Kamrup (Rural) district on Tuesday, police said.
According to police, 60 electronic detonators and several
metres of fuse wire in a carry bag were kept inside the bus
which was on way to Guwahati from Tezpur.

The bus was stopped at Baihata Charialia for checking.
Along with the explosives, 100 litres of liquor were also
recovered during the search.

Some persons have been detained for interrogation, police
said.

Patrolling and checking of vehicles across Assam have
been intensified following intelligence reports of possible
militant attacks in the run-up to the Independence Day.
