Panchkula, Dec 03: Chennai Superstars reached 63 runs from just eight overs. This was powered by some big hits from Ian Harvey and Chris Read who sent the scorekeepers in a tizzy. The crowds were entertained top the fullest amidst some dazzling stroke making.
Mervyn Dillon drew first blood for Mumbai Champs as he clean-bowled Hemant Kumar after the dangerous batsman could only score three runs. The wicket brought Chris Read to the crease as the Superstars scorecard read 8 runs for the loss of a wicket.
Chennai Superstars won the toss and elected to bat first in the crucial tie against Mumbai Champs. Even though the toss was lost, Champs skipper Brian Lara was confident that his team would emerge victorious.
