Ahmedabad, Feb 08: The administration of Junagadh district in Gujarat has taken over the two-storeyed house where late actress Parveen Babi lived during her childhood.
The house was given to Babi's father Vali Mohammed Khan Babi, who was an administrator with the then ruler. The family lived on the first floor while the servants lived on the ground floor.
"The first floor has been sealed and occupants of the ground floor have been served notices to vacate the premises at the earliest," Pathak said.
"The premises were rented to Vali Mohammed Khan Babi for Rs 40 per month and they have not paid the amount for several years now. As the property belongs to the administration, it was our duty to seal it fearing any sort of misuse", he said.

Babi, the most successful and glamorous actress of seventies and eighties, was found dead in her flat in Mumbai on January 22 after leading the latter half of her life away from limelight due to nervous breakdown.

Some of her relatives from Junagadh were among the first to reach Mumbai after her death and had proved their credibility before claiming her body and putting it to rest.

The suburban Juhu flat in Mumbai of Babi has been sealed as there are no claimants.
