Mumbai, Aug 09: Katrina Kaif’s career is going great guns. Giving back-to-back hits, the Bollywood bombshell has become one of the few heroines in the industry to be considered a safe bet. Done her bit for this year, the divalicious babe is now looking to consolidate her place in the top slot for next year too, as she gets on-board to play the popular ‘Padosan’ in a remake of the sixties classic.
According to reports, Katrina has been approached to play the role essayed by Saira Banu in the original film. Though, nothing as been finalised as yet, we are told that Katrina is the strongest contender to fill the lead heroine slot among the other reigning beauties.
The film that was to go on floors late this year will now go in action early next year as Sanjay Dutt, who is to play the role originally portrayed by Kishore Kumar, had no dates for this year.
The other actors who will be seen in lead roles are Ritiesh Deshmukh and Paresh Rawal. Interestingly, Ritiesh has been finalised to essay the role of ‘Bhola’, which was played by Sunil Dutt, while Paresh will be seen filling Mehmood’s shoes.
So, if all goes as planned, Kat will be seen romancing Ritiesh next year. After seeing the beauty with Akshay Kumar in back to back flicks, Kat and Ritiesh’s pair will be a refreshing sight.
