Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 20: The `Kshathriya Kshema
Sabha` will honour ISRO Chairman G Madhavan Nair and the
architects of Chandrayaan-I on November 23 on the occasion
of the 113th birth anniversary of the late Regent Queen of
Travancore, Maharani Sethu Lakshmibai.
Nair will deliver the Regent Queen memorial lecture on
" India`s recent space achievements" at the function, a
Kshathriya Kshema Sabha release said.
Kerala Law and Sports Minister M Vijayakumar will
inaugurate the function and head of Travancore Royal house
Uthradam Tirunal Marthanda Varma will address the gathering.
Meanwhile, Beena Govind, staff reporter of
`Mathrubhumi,` was selected for the Regent Queen Media award
for her serial on the plight of the tribals in Attappadi area
carried by the daily.
The award carries Rs 15,001, citation and memento.
Beena was selected for the award by a jury, comprising
former director of PIB K L Sreekrishnadas, noted journalist
and researcher Malayinkil Gopalakrishnan and Kshatra Sandesam
Chief Editor M Ravivarma Raja.
