Mumbai, April 03: After having parted ways and gone on their respective paths eight months back, the queen of soap operas, ‘Ekta Kapoor’ and the favourite bahu ‘Smriti Irani’ aka Tulsi Virani have joined forces yet again.
Both the ladies addressed a press conference on Wednesday evening to break the news of their patch-up. Irani will be making a comeback in Ekta’s daily soap, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi after an eight month long hiatus. The two had reportedly ended their long association due to certain creative differences, as well as the fact that Irani wanted to start her own production house, which was an obvious competition for Ekta’s Balaji Telefilms.
The actor along with Ekta Kapoor confirmed her comeback on the show. On being asked about the reason for the patch up, Ekta said- “Kyunki was my baby, the same way Smriti gave birth to Tulsi, and I can’t take that away from her.” Irani added to the same and said, “I realized what it meant to me while I wasn’t doing it, in one way or the other it had become my identity and I was often addressed by the name Tulsi than my own and still am.”
The fate of Gautami Gadgil, the current Tulsi is still not known, but she surely looks on her way out of the show.
Though Ekta Kapoor has denied that dropping TRPs were the reason for bringing back Smriti, but isn’t that obvious? With Ekta one can’t say, we might soon see Gadgil and Ekta holding a joint conference announcing Gadgil’s return too!
