Nagpur, Nov 10: Former Skipper Sourav Ganguly who played the last Test of his cricket career at Nagpur said that the result of the series against Australia was the best way that he could have hoped at the time of retirement.
“It is my time to leave. We have beaten the best team by 2-0. The way the series went, I’m ready to sacrifice a year of Test cricket for that,” said Sourav while talking to reporters at the post match press conference.

When asked about Greg Chappell, Ganguly refused to comment saying that it was a happy moment for Indian cricket and controversies should be kept aside.

“Let’s keep the controversy aside. It’s a happy day for Indian cricket. Let us celebrate,” said Ganguly.

On his future in cricket Sourav said that he has to abide by his contract for IPL for another 2 years.

“2 years of IPL and maybe a couple of matches for Bengal.”
