Mumbai, March 18: Bollywood starlet Soha Ali Khan is yet again in news, but this time it’s not for the any exceptional performance. The daughter of former cricketer, Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, has hit the headlines for all wrong reasons this time- for getting the license of the gun renewed illegally by Gurgaon administration after it was seized by the Jhajjar police.

The gun was apparently, used by her father to shoot a blackbuck in Jhajjar. Soha, finds herself in trouble over the issue of hiding crucial facts such as the gun was used by her father for killing a black buck, that has now been listed among protected species. Also, the actress was a minor when she had applied for the renewal of the gun license.

While moving the application for renewal, Soha had concealed facts from the administration that the gun was not in her possession and had been used by her father in the blackbuck hunting case.

The seizure memo of Jhajjar police made on June 5, 2005, states that Soha Ali Khan`s gun, a .22 bore rifle number 91501, was seized by them as the gun was being used by her father for hunting a blackbuck.

The blackbuck is a listed as a protected animal under the Wildlife Act. According to law, the license of the gun should have been cancelled immediately and a case for not keeping the licensed firearm properly should have been registered against the actress. However, her name was not even mentioned in the FIR by the cops in the case.

The issue came in to lime light after Naresh Kadyan, animal rights activist, issued an application under the Right to Information Act in the deputy commissioner`s office in Gurgaon. Kadyan had stated if the administration had ascertained if the applicant (Soha) was an adult when she moved the application for the gun license.

The deputy commissioner replied that there was no record in the license register about the date of birth of the applicant when she had applied for the gun license.

When contacted, Soha said, "All I can say is that the matter is subjudice and is still being debated in the court , so I`m unable to comment on it."
