Preferring youth over experience Indian selectors have dropped in form batsman Rahul Dravid from the upcoming Commonwealth Bank tri series in Australia. Sourav Ganguly who made tremendous comeback last year was also dropped from the ODI squad. This announcement comes as a big surprise for the Test team which has to play the crucial Adelaide Test later this week.
Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly are the part of the Test team which has to play in the Adelaide Test. Selectors also rewarded Raina for his good form in Ranji Trophy.
Team was announced by Chairman Selection, Dileep Vengsarkar. Yuvraj Singh despite of being in forgettable form has been considered over in form VVS Laxman. ODI team which will take on Australia and Sri Lanka in the Commonwealth bank series also includes Sreesanth and Suresh Raina.
Raina has made a comeback to the team, after being dumped out against Pakistan and Australia when the two teams toured India. Manoj Tiwari who was picked for the Bangladesh squad in April 2007 but out due to injury will be kept as a reserve.
Leg spinner Piyush Chawla gets a nod ahead of Murali Karthik. Ishant Sharma who showed tremendous form in Perth Test match was also included along with Sreesanth but Munaf Patel was left out and he needs to prove his fitness inorder to make a comeback.
