Melbourne, Nov 09: Former Australia batsman Mark Waugh has slammed India`s defensive tactics in the ongoing fourth Test against Ricky Ponting`s men, describing the host team`s approach as "ridiculous and boring".
Waugh, who is commentating for a sports channel in the four-match series which Australia trails 0-1, said the Indians made the game too boring to watch with their wide outside off-stump line that yielded just 166 runs on the third day of the match in Nagpur.

"It was a dreadful session of Test match cricket. Ridiculous. Not good enough. Pretty boring to watch," Waugh said.

Waugh said the message that India gave out with their tactics was that they were happy to get a draw and win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy even if it meant killing the game.

"As far as I can see, India aren`t trying to win this game," Waugh said.
