New Delhi, Aug 24: In an exclusive scoop, Zee News was able to get the tape recording of a SIMI leader instructing the cadres about the working style of the IB. The meeting, Zee News learnt, was held in a mosque before the Ahmedabad and Bangalore blasts.
The IB, the leader informs the cadres, does not walk up to a person and start questioning him. Rather, they depend upon informers from within the group. For example, the voice on tape continues, they would have contacts with one of the people sitting here (in the meeting). He (the informer) would provide information because of his personal links with the IB officer. The informer does this because he thinks that this man is good to me and often helps me, and moreover I tell him so little. The IB officer would then be able to make inferences from the little information that the informer would provide.

The voice is then heard informing the cadres about the ‘watchers’. The leader says that we do not know much about the watchers as they do not have any fixed office, and their job is only to trail people.

“They would see where you go, where you take a rickshaw, where you board a scooter, who you meet and what documents you exchange. They would also see which mosques you went to and so on,” the man says.

“If you go to the RMS of your town,” the voice continues “you would see that there are people sitting there who would sponge the envelope and then open it with a very thin wire. They would then read the letter. If required they would even get it photocopied.”

This is not all; the leader also lays down his understanding of how the law works. “Law,” the voice says “is the rope with which the strong bind the weak.” The way to control this law is to build a mass base. If you have a mass base, the law would be in your pocket.

The Zee News team also leaned that after Nagori the most prominent member of SIMI is a person called Shibli. He is Nagori`s right hand man and has participated in all the training camps that the organization held.

He himself gave training to new recruits at one of the training camps. Another member Taufeeq was the brain behind the bombs used in Ahmedabad blasts. He was also the one who set the timer device in the bombs found in Surat. For this he had used the chips that are used in washing machines to set the time. The experiment if successful could have wrought great destruction as the devices time could be set to explode even a week later.

This experiment was fortunately not successful.
