The Railway Recruitment Board of the Indian Railways has announced more than 1,10,000 vacancies across the board. The last date to applying for the jobs is on Saturday, March 31, 2018. The exam is expected to held in April or May, 2018.

Here's a quick look at the Group D Exam Pattern of the Railways. The exam is held in three stages:

Stage 1: Computer-Based test (CBT)

The test consists of Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Science and General Awareness on Current Affairs. One-third marks is deducted for wrong answer. There are 100 questions, which needs to be attempted in 90 minutes. An objective-type paper, each answer has four multiple choices.

Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates who qualify in the computer-based test are then called in for the Physical Efficiency Test. Male aspirants should be able to lift and carry 35-kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down. Women candidates, on the other hand, are required to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down.

Stage 3: Document Verification
The final stage is document verification.

After the candidate successfully clears all the three stages, the final merit list is issued.
