Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Y Naik: I underwent Covid-19 test today & it has turned out asymptomatically positive. My vitals are within normal limits and I have opted for home isolation. Those who have came in contact with me in last few days are advised to get tested for themselves and take required precautions.

Andhra Pradesh: 9,597 new cases and 93 deaths were reported today. The total number of cases rises to 2,54,146, of which, 90,425 are active cases and 2,296 deaths.

The Narendra Modi-led government, which recently unveiled the New Education Policy 2020, is going to implement big-ticket changes in the country’s education system and has sought suggestions from the University Grant Commission (UGC) and the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) in this regard.
According to the Zee Media sources, the Centre is mulling to convert the entire education system into the online education system. This will reduce the burden on educational institutions for running physical classes for the students.

Flash floods following heavy rainfall swept away a bridge on Akpa road in HImachal's Kinnaur. A portion of the road connecting Skibba village has also been damaged. At least two people died and 110 were arrested in connection with the violence that broke out in Bengaluru on Tuesday (August 11) over an alleged derogatory social media post by a Congress leader's relative. It is learnt that two people died in police firing after angry mobs attacked the house of Pulakeshinagar MLA Akhanda Srinivas Murthy and violent clashes broke out in DJ Halli and KG Halli police station areas of Bengaluru.
