The water flow of river Baitarani at Odisha's Swampatna in Kendujhar district is expected to cross danger level due to torrential rains, informed the Central Water Commission (CWC) on Wednesday. With 610 more COVID-19 cases, the total number of reported cases in Rajasthan have reached 73,935, informed the State Health Department on Wednesday. Three districts -- Jodhpur (136), Bikaner (127), and Jaipur (126) -- reported more than 100 positive cases for the novel coronavirus. Six people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 986 in the state. (PTI)

The India Meteorological Department had on Tuesday issued an alert for "moderate to heavy" rains in the national capital from Wednesday to Friday. "Delhi-NCR is very likely to experience one or two spells of moderate rain from Wednesday evening/night to Friday afternoon, with heavy rainfall at isolated places on Thursday," it said. (PTI)

Uttarakhand rain update: Dharchula SDM Anil Kr Shukla said, "Several roads are blocked in the district due to incessant rainfall this year. Houses are damaged and people have died. We're carrying out operations to clear roads. Road from Tawaghat to Darma valley is blocked. Work is on, it'll be cleared in 5-6 days." (ANI)

The search and rescue operation at Madhya Pradesh's Dewas has concluded. A total of 9 people rescued from the spot where a two-storey building collapsed near Lal Gate area in Dewas yesterday. An NDRF officer says, "Two bodies were recovered and one more person was rescued from under the debris."
