Amit Shah inaugurates new IIT Jammu campus in Jammu and Kashmir

Amid tight security, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday arrived here and inaugurated the new campus of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu, officials said.

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday (October 24, 2021) inaugurated a new campus at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Jammu on Sunday.

“I came to Jammu today to say that time of injustice to the people of Jammu is over, now no one can do injustice to you. Some are trying to disrupt era of development here, but want to assure you that no one will be able to disturb the era of development,” said Home Minister Amit Shah. 

On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on the 82nd edition of his monthly radio programme “Mann Ki Baat” on Sunday (October 24, 2021). PM Narendra Modi praised the efforts of the vaccine manufacturers that resulted in India's vaccine century. He further emphasised the need for proper institutionalising of processes for the coming times.

"Mann ki Baat" is the Prime Minister`s monthly radio address, which is broadcast on the last Sunday of every month however, this time the programme will be broadcast on the second last Sunday of the month.

Meanwhile, India and Pakistan are set to lock horns in their opening game of ICC T20 World Cup 2021 today at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Kolkata: A fire broke out at a house in Dhakuria in south Kolkata on Sunday, an official said. The blaze, described as minor, was reported around noon and was put out within half an hour with the help of two fire engines, the official said. Jammu and Kashmir: Detenue Zia mustafa, a Pakistani terrorist of LeT was taken to Bhatadurian for identification of terrorist hideout during the ongoing operation in which three army jawans and a JCO were martyred.During the search when the team approached the hideout, terrorists again opened fire on the joint team of police and army personnel in which two policemen and an army jawan sustained injuries.

Zia Mustafa also sustained injuries and he could not be extracted from the site due to heavy fire. Injured personnel is under treatment at the nearby health facility. A fresh attempt will be made with reinforcements. Operation at the site is still going on.
