A 46-year-old man, Himangshu Debnath, a resident of North 24 Parganas was arrested by the Cyber Cell of Kolkata Police for sharing a video from Gujarat and terming it as a video from Metiabruz near Kolkata in West Bengal. The video was from some clashes that had erupted recently.

The Maharashtra government has decided to give a slight relaxation in the rural areas to farmers from April 20 amid lockdown. The relaxation will not apply in hotspots and affected districts. The districts which do not have coronavirus cases will be given relaxation.

In Karnataka, despite District Commissioner's warning against community prayers or gathering people violated lock down guidelines. A mass prayer was held in the mosque on Friday in the town of Savanur village of Haveri district in Karnataka. 30 people of a community participated in Friday prayers and had to face the brunt of act with police resorting to lathi charge for violating the guidelines.
