Rajasthan reports as many as 266 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the State`s Health Department said on Wednesday. The total number of cases in Rajasthan now stands at 31,599, including 8,129 active cases and 22,889 recoveries. So far 581 coronavirus deaths have been reported from the state. (ANI)

Russia reported 5,862 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Wednesday, pushing its total infection tally to 789,190, the fourth largest in the world. The country`s coronavirus crisis response centre said 165 people had died in the last 24 hours, bringing the official death toll to 12,745. (Reuters)

A total of 1,078 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths were reported in Odisha in the last 24 hours, the state`s health department informed. Odisha now has a total of 19,835 COVID-19 cases, including 6,386 active cases and 13,310 recoveries. So far, 108 lives have been claimed by the infectious virus in the state. (ANI)

Assam recorded the highest single-day spike of 1,680 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday as the state crossed the 26,000 mark, Minister for Health and Family Welfare Himanta Biswa Sarma said. The state also saw six more deaths due to the infection, he said. The total number of coronavirus cases in the state reached 26,772, while the death toll increased to 64. (PTI)
