In the last 24 hours, Maharashtra recorded a total of 4,841 new cases, 3661 discharges and 192 deaths. The total number of cases in state now stands at 147,741, 77,453 discharged and death toll is 6931.

West Bengal records 475 new cases and 15 deaths in 24 hours taking total cases to 15,648. Total active cases in the state reach 4852, and total deaths stand at 606. A total of 10,190 people have been discharged so far and 488 in the last 24 hours. Total samples tested so far is 439,258 and 9492 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours.

This was the sixth consecutive day when coronavirus cases increased by more than 14,000. On June 20, the country registered an increase of 14,516 cases. On June 21, the increase was of 15,413 cases; 14,821 cases on June 22; 14,933 cases on June 23; and 15,968 cases on June 24. Consequently, India added 92,573 cases since June 20, and over 2.82 lakh this month since June 1. (PTI)

As many as 46 new coronavirus cases were reported in Indore on Wednesday, as per the data provided by the District Health Department. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the district stood at 4,507, including 3,344 discharged cases and 211 fatalities. (ANI)

Another 154 COVID-19 patients have died in Britain, bringing the total coronavirus-related death toll in the country to 43,081, the British Department of Health and Social Care said on Wednesday. As of Wednesday morning, 306,862 people have tested positive for the disease in Britain, a daily increase of 653, according to the department, Xinhua reported. (IANS)
