Former Chaubepur SO Vinay Tiwari and beat in-charge KK Sharma arrested for risking the lives of the police team at the time of the encounter, for having connections with Vikas Dubey and helping him escape from the spot. IG Mohit Aggarwal and SSP Dinesh Kumar P confirmed the arrest.

UP government has increased the reward on providing information about the whereabouts of gangster Vikas Dubey to Rs 5 lakh. Earlier, the reward was Rs 50,000, which was increased to 1 lakh and now it has been hiked to Rs 5 lakh.

Vikas Dubey, is an infamous history-sheeter in Uttar Pradesh, he has 60 cases against his name. Dubey is also known to have murdered a minister in the former Rajnath Singh government in UP. In 2001, Vikas Dubey barged into a police station and gunned down Santosh Shukla, who was a minister in the Rajnath Singh-led UP government.
