Mumbai: After the roaring success of the English and Hindi versions of his autobiography, Essel Group Chairman and Rajya Sabha MP Dr Subhash Chandra on Friday unveiled the Marathi version of 'The Z Factor - My Journey as the Wrong Man at the Right Time'.
The book was launched by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, former CM and senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chauhan and NCP chief Sharad Pawar at a glittering function attended by who's who from Maharashtra politics, industry and other spheres of life.
The event also saw achievers from various spheres of life being honoured with the Zee 24 Taas Ananya Samman.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Chandra said, “In the times to come our political system should work towards capacity building and to make people self-dependent rather than keeping them dependent on doles like subsidies. This will ensure a bright future for our country,” adding that Zee Ananya Samman shares this vision.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had unveiled Dr Chandra's autobiography on January 20, 2016. The Hindi version of the inspiring book was launched in September last year.
Well respected as a global business leader, Dr Chandra has been associated with numerous philanthropic activities through the DSC Foundation.
He is particularly credited for revolutionising India's television industry by launching the first satellite television channel Zee TV in 1992 and later the first private news channel Zee News.
For his outstanding contributions to the media industry, Dr Chandra was awarded the 2011 International Emmy Directorate Award at the 39th International Emmy Awards in New York - first to receive the award recognizing excellence in television programming outside the United States.
A self-made businessman who came to Delhi from his native Hisar at age 20 with Rs 17 in his pocket. Today, his name is counted among the richest Indians.
The media mogul shares his rich experience on the Dr Subhash Chandra Show, which is watched by over millions of 230 million viewers across the country.
