BJP’s current MLA Satya Prakash Agarwal was denied ticket this time, and he was replaced by Amit Aggarwal. Besides Amit Aggarwal, SP’s Manisha Ahlawat and Congress's Avanish Kajala are the three top candidates awaiting the results of the Meerut Cantt Vidhan Sabha elections. BJP’s Amit Aggarwal has a declared total assets of Rs 148.8 crore while his liabilities are worth Rs 13.3 crore. RLD’s Manisha Ahlawat’s declared assets stand at Rs 18.8 crore and liabilities are Rs 1 crore.

BJP has fielded a new candidate Amit Aggarwal for this seat. Amit Aggarwal is a graduate, and has 10 criminal cases pending against him. In the 2017 elections, BJP’s Satya Prakash Agarwal had defeated his nearest rival BSP’s Satendra Solanki by a margin of 76,619 votes. Satya Prakash got 132,518 votes (55.93%), whereas Solanki received 55,899 (23.59%) votes.
SP-RLD candidate for Meerut Cantt Assembly Elections
Manisha Ahlawat is the RLD, which is fighting the UP elections in alliance with the Samajwadi Party, candidate for the Meerut Cantt Assembly seat. She is a postgraduate, and does not have any criminal case pending against her. In the 2017 elections, the then-RLD candidate Sanjeev Dhama stood fourth as he could get only 3,851 votes.
