The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday launched searches at over 70 locations belonging to gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Neeraj Bawana and their aides across several states. The raids were conducted in Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh.
The raids started early Tuesday morning and are currently going on. The raids were being conducted at over 30 locations in Punjab.
Lawrence Bishnoi was placed under arrest by the NIA on November 24, 2022 in connection with a case related to conspiracy hatched by terrorists, gangsters and drug smugglers` syndicate to create terror among the public.
His arrest was made when he was lodged in the Bhatinda Jail.
The case pertains to conspiracy hatched by the members of criminal syndicate based in India and abroad, to raise funds, recruit youth to carry out terrorist acts in Delhi and other parts of the country to execute spectacular heinous crimes, including targeted killings of prominent persons, with an intention to strike terror in the minds of the people of the country.
NIA Raids in Haryana
NIA raided a liquor contractor's house in Mahaveer Colony of Jagadhri, Yamunanagar. The contractor is suspected to have links with gangsters. Joint teams of Haryana Police and NIA are conducting the raids.
NIA is conducting searches and raids at more than 70 places in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Chandigarh, UP, Gujarat and MP regarding a case registered by NIA against gangster and their criminal syndicate.

NIA team raided hideouts of crook Nikku in Chhochi village in Haryana's Jhajjar. Nikku has association with Neeraj Bawana gang. Neeraj Bawana's aunt also lives in Chhochi village.
In connection to NIA's crackdown against gangster syndicate, raids have been carried out in Kalawali Dabwali and village Mallekan in Sirsa district. A total of five teams of Sirsa Police are cooperating in this raid. Around 70 police personnel were involved in the operation. Raids are being conducted simultaneously at all the three places since 4 am.
NIA Raids in Madhya Pradesh
NIA conducted late night searches in Nagda town of Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain. The house of a man named Deepak has been raided. He is associated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
