New Delhi: Babri Masjid Action Committee (BMAC) Zafaryab Jilani on Tuesday disagreed with Supreme Court's advice that the amicable settlement of the Ayodhya temple dispute was a better course than on insisting on judicial pronouncement.
When asked to comment on the obervations made by the bench of Chief Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar, Jilani said that such negotiations have failed earlier, an out of court settlement is not possible.
Jilani's comments come after the SC today said fresh attempts must be made by all parties concerned to find a solution to Ayodhya Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute which is a "sensitive" and "sentimental matter".
A bench of Chief Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar, Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul said this as BJP leader Subramanian Swamy urged it to constitute a bench to hear a batch of petitions challenging a 2010 Allahabad High Court order.
