Seven Naxals killed in encounter near Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh

At least seven Naxals, including three women, were killed in an encounter with the District Reserve Guard in Sitagota jungle area of Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh on Saturday. Three security personnel also got injured in the encounter.

Several arms and ammunition were recovered by the security personnel. Ak 47 rifles, 303 rifle, carbines and other weapons were recovered.

Chhattisgarh Director General of Police told news agency ANI that the encounter took place under the Bagnadi police station area.

The encounter continued till last reports came in even as it rained heavily in the area.

It is suspected that there were 40 to 50 Naxals in the area when the encounter began. The death toll of Naxals is likely to go up.
