Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackrey reached Ayodhya on Saturday (March 7, 2020) along with wife Rashmi Thackrey and son Aditya Thackrey to commemorate 100 days in office. After offering prayers at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uddhav said that Maharashtra will give Rs 1 crore to Ram Janmbhomi Trust for the construction of Ram Temple.

Uddhav also said that he feels fortunate to offer prayers at Ayodhya's Ram temple and assured that he will soon come back to Ayodhya and perform aarti on Saryu river.

Meanwhile, Thackrey's two important programmes were cancelled which also includes his participation in the 'Saryu Aarti' ritual as Ministry of Health had issued advisory to avoid all kinds of public gatherings amid coronavirus scare.

Uddhav received grand welcome on his arrival to the holy place and he also shared the picture of the same in his official Twitter handle.

After completion of his Ayodhya visit, Uddhav will leave for Lucknow on Sunday (March 7, 2020) where he is also likely to address a press conference.

Prior to Uddhav's arrival, several Ministers and leaders of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) have already arrived Ayodhya to join him in his Temple visit.

Earlier, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had appealed to all the leaders including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to visit Ayodhya saying that everybody should come here and offer prayers to Lord Ram.

Launching a veiled attack on BJP, Sena's editorial mouthpiece 'Saamana' said that Lord Ram and Hindutva is not the sole property of any single political party. Lauding the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government -which comprises the NCP and the Congress- Sena said that those who were claiming that the new dispensation will not survive more than 100 hours have now have their mouth shut.
