Jammu: An army patrol party was on Thursday attacked by a group of heavily armed terrorists in Ahgam village of Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district.

According to reports, the attack took place this evening when a patrol party of the 44 Rashtriya Rifles was targeted by the terrorists as it entered the Ahgam village.

Terrorists also fired upon the house of a Special Police Officer named Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh in Bijbehara who was badly injured.

He was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.

However, he succumbed to injuries while he was on way to the hospital.
