Srinagar: Terrorists on Saturday launched an attack on the Army vehicle in Imam Sahib area of Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, according to ANI.
One of the terrorists has been gunned down by the security forces, the media agency report adding that the operation is still underway.
Police sources said security forces surrounded Barbugh village in Shopian district in the evening following information that militants were hiding there.
"As the security forces tightened the cordon, they were fired at by hiding militants after which an encounter has started there," police told IANS.
n an another incident, a group of terrorists attacked a police party at a bus-stand in the Anantnag district. One policeman was killed and two others were injured in the terror attack.
The attack was carried out in the afternoon today.
Notably, the attack took place 500 yards from the venue of Home Minister Rajnath Singh's meeting on Sunday.
