Srinagar: Three terrorists have been gunned down on Sunday in an ongoing encounter with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Mujgund. The gunfight has also left five security personnel injured.

The terrorists were identified as members of terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba. Weapons and other warlike stores have been recovered from the encounter site.

"Three terrorists were neutralized and their bodies were retrieved. Identities and affiliations of killed terrorists are being ascertained. Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from site of encounter. Case registered and investigation initiated in matter," Jammu and Kashmir Police said.
Mobile internet services have been suspended in Srinagar following the encounter which started on Saturday. No bodies of the terrorists have been found yet.
"A search op was launched yesterday jointly by Police&security forces at Mujgund area on Bandipora Road. During search op, search party was fired upon by hiding terrorists. Fire was retaliated leading to gunfight. In initial exchange of fire 1 army jawan sustained injuries," police added.
