JAMMU: A group of unidentified terrorists attacked a J&K Police patrol party with a grenade in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district on Wednesday.

The terrorists fled from the scene after hurling the grenade, which exploded near the walls of a police station in Pattan.

Though no loss of life was reported in the grenade attack, two security personnel have been injured in the incident.

After administering medical aid to the injured cops, they were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Their condition is said to be under control.

One of the two injured cops is an SDPO rank officer, reports said.

The security forces have cordoned off the entire area and launched a massive search and combing operation to nab the terrorists.

The attack on police patrol party came shortly after the security forces shot dead three terrorists in a joint operation by Army, J&K Police and the CRPF in Srinagar this morning.

One J&K policeman also lost his life in the encounter.

The encounter took place in the Fateh Kadal locality of Srinagar following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.
