Bengaluru: With the poll battle flaring up in Karnataka, few members of the Bharatiya Janata Party or BJP filed a complaint against state Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Congress leader Dinesh Gundu Rao.
BJP Karnataka spokesperson S Sureshkumar and state president PN Sadashiva filed a complaint against the two Congress leaders for 'making inflammatory and derogatory statement on BJP amounting to Defamatory and Criminal Acts under IPC'.
Siddaramaiah had on January 10 alleged that the BJP, RSS and Bajrang Dal had terrorists within their organisations. "They themselves are like terrorists in a way. The BJP, RSS and Bajrang Dal also have terrorists within," he had said.
Responding to Siddaramaiah's statement, BJP leader Sambit Patra said, “The statement of Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah has reiterated Congress's policy of appeasement and its hatred towards Hindus.”
With the Karnataka Assembly elections just around the corner, the war of words between the two parties has heated up on social media. On Friday, the Congress put out a video, mocking Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Adityanath entered the Karnataka poll battleground with a massive rally in Bengaluru, where he accused Siddaramaiah of "endorsing beef eaters" despite being a Hindu and intermixing religion with politics.
