West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry Assembly elections 2016 - Exit polls: As it happened

Exit polls at the end of five-state elections on Monday evening predicted a Trinamool sweep in West Bengal, a BJP win in Assam, a Left victory in Kerala but the verdict was split over Tamil Nadu.

Delhi: The high-octane Assembly elections in five states - West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry came to an end on Monday.

While the voting in West Bengal and Assam had concluded earlier, polling was held for 232 Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu, 140 in Kerala and 30 in Puducherry today.

After the polling, various exit polls predicted that Assam, Tamil Nadu and Kerala had voted for change.

On the other hand, it was said to be advantage DMK in Tamil Nadu.

Counting of votes will take place on May 19.

Today’s Chanakya News X seat projection for Kerala: LDF - 75 ± 9, UDF - 57 ± 9, BJP+ - 08 ± 4 and Others - 0 ± 1.

India TV-CVoter exit polls: In Puducherry, the DMK-Congress combine is projected to win 10-18 seats.

On the other hand, AINRC is projected to win 5-13 seats, AIADMK 1-9 seats, BJP 0-2 seats and Others 0-4 seats in a House of 30 members.

India TV-CVoter exit poll: In Tamil Nadu, the ruling AIADMK is projected to win 135 to 143 seats.

On the other hand, DMK-Congress combine is projected to win 74 to 82 seats and BJP-led NDA may get only 0-1 seats.

Others 13-21 seats.

Exit  poll conducted by CVoter and telecast on India TV - In West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress projected to win within a range of 163 to 171 seats in a House of 294. (TMC had won 184 seats in the last Assembly electyions).

The Left-Congress alliance may win 112-128 seats. (CPI(M)-led Left Front is projected to win 71-79 seats and Congress may bag 41-49 seats.)

BJP is projected to win two to six seats and Others one to five seats.

CVoter-India TV poll - In Kerala, the United Democratic Front has been projected to win within a range of 54 to 62 seats.

The CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front is projected to win 74-82 seats in a House of 140.

BJP-led NDA may win 0-4, and Others also 0-4 seats.

Exit  poll conducted by CVoter, telecast on India TV predicts BJP-led alliance to get seats within a range of 53-61 in a House of 126.

On the other hand, the ruling Congress is projected to get 37-45 seats, while the AIUDF is projected to win 14-22 seats, with 6-14 seats going to Óthers and Independents.

The half way figure is 64.
