India vs Australia, 4th ODI - As it happened...

Australia lead the series 4-0 after winning the 4th ODI at Canberra. India saw Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli almost take the game away as India were cruising at 277/1 but Kane Ricchardson walked past the middle order as the visitors collapsed from there on to fold at 323 runs, chasing 349. 

Earlier, Aaron Finch (107) David Warner (93), Steve Smith (51) and Glenn Maxwell (41) propelled the hosts to 348 runs in 50 overs.

Virat departs as he mistimes a shot straight to Smith. India in trouble here from a winning position the tides have changed. Jadeja is the new man in and there are two new men at the crease. Jadeja gets a brace and the match is tight now. A single follows, Richardson has been brilliant here. Gurkeerat gets a run to keep strike. Lyon continues and gets a wicket. Gurkeerat hits a four before his inexperience comes to play and he skies to Marsh. Four wickets in a space of 8 runs and we have a famous Indian collapse on cards here? Injured Rahane comes into bat. Rahane gets off the mark with a two.

Australia now in with a chance here as wickets couldn't have come at a better time. Lyon bowls tight here and there are some nervy moments now in the Indian batting. Excellent over from Lyon with just one run coming from it.

Marsh bowls and Dhawan excels to clear mid-off for a four. Dhawan then has a swipe and a diving Lyon saves two in the boundary. Nine runs come from the over. Hastings starts off with a no-ball and Dhawan finds the fielder off the free-hit ball. A misfield by the skipper next allows Dhawan to steal two runs. He was the fastest Indian to 3000 ODI runs. Change of pace sees Dhawan charge down and he finds the player in Bailey at point. He gets out for a well made 126 runs. Kohli needs to bat this through now with Dhoni supporting him. Dhoni plays two dot balls to start with. He then uses his feet and manages to nick one to the keeper. Game on here!

Kohli brings up his 25th ODI ton and his 2nd of the series. What a batsman he is in ODI cricket. He is the fastest to 25th ODI ton and achieves this days after being the quickest to reach 7000 ODI runs. Six runs come from that Hastings over. 200 runs partnership too comes up between the duo.

Dhawan has hit a sublime ton here and he got to his 100 with a well hit four. Runs have flowed at ease for India and the game is in control at the moment. Kohli mkeanwhile is on 99 and is awaiting his 25th ODI ton. Dhawan survuved a scare when Bailey claimed for a catch but replays showed it fell just short.

Steve Smith bowls and Dhawan hits past backward square boundary. Next one gets a same treatement. A ball over mid-off and Dhawan punishes Smith. Lyon gets whipped past midwicket by Kohli before Dhawan hits a reverse sweep for another four. It is all India here at the moment.

Kohli gets a ball in his slot and he hammers it in the crowd for a six. He is loving Faukner, this lad. A run is taken next and Dhawan guides one towards third man for a brace. Slower delivery misses Dhawan's bat, clever one this. A good fielding next keeps a Dhawan shot to just one.

Another good over for India here with six runs coming. The duo are building on their partnership well and need to continue that as long as possible. Steve Smith goes for a change and comes to bowl himself. Good turn and it is hit straight back to him. The next gets an edge but falls safely. Brilliant shot by Kohli after creating some room and that goes for a four. Good try by Warner in the deep but it goes past him. Six come from it, an interesting over by the skipper.

Richardson continues and Dhawan defends the first ball. He then calls for two and gets it easily. The next ball finds the fielder at point. Dhawan needs to be patient here and wait for the loose balls. He does just that and pulls a short ball for four. A straight drive front of the wicket off a full delivery ends the over in India's favour. Marsh starts with a wide, that will frustrate his skipper. Three singles amidst a wide follows next. Dhawan then plays a good shot only for a single and Kohli then took a close run as the fielder had a close shy at the stumps.

Richardson comes back and bowls straight for Kohli to defend. Kohli gets one in the air but is lucky it is in the gap. He gets a brace and slams the next one in the gap for four. He is enjoying the pace of Richardson and a brace sees him get to his fifty. Good batting this from him and he keeps strike. Kohli guides down the leg side and picks two. Good running from Indian duo here. A single follows as Lyon is having some work to do at the deep. Three singles follow next before Dhawan's cut shot is straight to the fielder before finding Lyon for a single.

Maxwell starts and drifts down the leg for Kohlki to pick an easy brace. A wide and three singles follow before Dhawan belts one away over midwicket for four. Marsh then bowls a tidy over keeping it to basics and a loose ball in the end sees Dhawan pull for a four.

Lyon finally has a good over to his name after conceding just four runs. Marsh bowls a tidy over next which saw Kohli almost have a boundary but Hastings does well to throw it back in while crossing over the boundary. Five comes from that one.

100 comes up for India in the 13th over after two singles come from the first two balls. The running between wickets will be key here and the duo are looking to do that. Kohli uses his feet well and makes room over point and cover for a four. Lyon drifts down the leg and Kohli has an easy single. Marsh comes to bowl and Kohli wanted to play towards square-leg but the ball rushes on to him, hits his bat-glove and runs for a four. A single is taken next after playing a positive shot towards off-side. Dhawan hits a good shot and puts pressure on the fielder to get two runs.

Dhawan cuts the ball over point for a flat six off Hastings to start with. A nice comeback by the Aussie pacer after that conceding just two runs. Faulkner bowls and Kohli gets an edge that is just wide from the bowler's hand and he gets a single. Dhawan gets a single next as it is important now for these two to keep a cool head and plan out the chase. Virat then smashes Faulkner through cover for four. Next ball is hammered once again as Kohli comes down to make roon and clear the off-side.

Hastings starts off with a wide. Dhawan defends the next ball off his front foot. He then flicks a ball for four. Four dot balls follow and some excellent fielding from the Aussies here. James Faulkner replaces Richardson as Kohli drives it beautifully through the off side for four. Next ball is hit straight to mid-off. Kohli then defends it well in the next ball. Kohli likes the width and comes down the track and smashes him for another four. A single is taken next, that is clever from Kohli. Dhawan will keep strike with a run.

Rohit guides a ball past point for a brace. Three more singles come from that Hasting over. Decent one that! Richardson bowls and Rohit defends in his crease. Sharma hits his bookmark shot over the deep square leg boundary for a huge six. After a dot he hits another six, a short ball sees Sharma getting inside the ball and hammers it for a four. What an over to end with as a ball that was going down the leg brushes off Rohit's gloves and he departs for 41.

Hastings comes to bowl and is right on the money as Rohit picks up a cheeky single. Bailey has a throw at the stumps but Rohit is already home. The pressure will be on Dhawan especially with his dot ball percentage. After three dots he gets a single. Rohit plays a fine shit but Lyon's presence of mind is excellent as he dives to prevent a boundary. Two runs are taken, Dhawan then goes for a big heave and gets a six over square-leg boundary. Two good dots follow, Richardson has been good so far and is defining his presence. Another ball is struck crisply and is just wide of short extra-cover. It was in the air and runs away for a boundary. Three runs are taken from the last ball.

Dhawan takes a single as Rohit goes for a big shot and is lucky as it clears mid-off, just! Rohit then comes down and hits a huge six. Dhawan meanwhile, gets a four and the ball was just inches away from David Warner at cover. Next ball he manages to get three off a late cut. 17 runs come from that over. Richardson continues and bowls nice and straight to Dhawan. He then hits a cut shot but it is very well fielded at point. A run is stolen. Rohit flicks a ball for a single, a dot ball ends the over.

Nathan lyon opens the bowling as Aussies opt for spin right in the first over. Rohit defends the first before sweeping one for four. Two more singles come from the over. Richardson shares the new ball as Dhawan sees a nice shot being nicely fielded by Bailey. The rest of the over is productive for the Aussies as a solitary run comes from it.

Maxwell starts off with a four as Ishant bowls. Bailey then gets a three after Gurkeerat fumbles. Bailey then goes in the final ball after lofting a catch to long-on fielder. Faulkner comes in and Umesh gets his man. He goes for a sweep but it crashes on to his stumps. Wade then departs after getting run out. Maxwell shows his skills and hits two fours to end the over. Last over sees Ishant bowl and Maxwell torments him. A six followed by two fours and a dot. ishant exchanges some words and Maxwell hits another four. Pandey holds on to a terrific catch off the last ball but the damage is already done.

Ishant has been asked to bowl and he pitches length and Smith heaves it for a huge six. A misfield at fine leg next sees Smith pick two. Umesh was the fielder, he was called in action in the next ball too as Smith picks another two. Brilliant batting this by the Australian skipper. He dances down the track and goes for a reverse sweep but misses. A single follows again that comes through towards fine leg. Smith surpasses 2000 ODI runs as Marsh gets a boundary off the last ball. Surprisingly Dhoni continues with a below-par Kumar and he doesn't disappoint. Full-toss is smashed for a six by Smith. A single follows before the duo run well to pick a brace. Another easy two runs come, Dhoni looks clueless.

Kumar's horrific tour continues as a paceless full length ball is cleared past deep square leg fielder by Smith for a six. Next over Dhawan is smacked down long-on for four. Umesh made a genuine effort to stop it but his leg struck the fence while pulling the ball back. Three singles follow it is all easy for Aussies here. Two braces follow next. Big over in the circumstances for Australia. Looks like all Aussie batsmen are in good touch.

Umesh starts with a good ball that beats Finch's edge. Follows it up with a wide. That has been the problem. Next one is a good length on off, Finch goes for the pull but the ball bounces and takes the outside half. The ball lobs up and Ishant runs around from mid-on to take a catch. Finch departs for 107. Jadeja bowls his last over and after a tidy start, he gives a high full toss on middle and Smith puts it away with ease.

Jadeja bowls a tidy over once again which sees Marsh hit a good drive to pick a brace. Umesh Yadav has been a miserable figure. Short ball menace continues as Finch picks midwicket for a four. Marsh goes over mid-off and clears to get a four as well. Umesh looks like a robot with no consistency and gameplan. In the next over Marsh goes for a slog sweep and gets a cracking four off Jadeja.

An urgency in running as Finch gets a brace off Jadeja playing the ball towards third man. Rishi then sees six runs from his over. Finch gets a brace pushed towards long-on. Warner gets a brace too before having a half chance that falls short of Rahane.

Aussies have went on to add runs and this looks worrying for the visitors. Warner has been strong through the leg side and he gets a three through midwicket. Change for India as Mann comes in and Warner gets a four as the ball falls short wide a of a diving short fine leg. Rishi then sees a good over just limiting it to three runs.

Ishant continues to be India's best bowler in the match as he bowls consistently in a good channel. Only a solitary run comes from it. Bhuvi comes back to bowl and Finch gets a brace after an inside edge runs towards fine leg. A single comes from rest of the over. India need wickets and in the past two overs they have at least kept the batsmen quiet.

Bhuvneshwar playing the game was surprising and he starts off poorly once again. He bowls full and wide and it's easy for Warner as he cuts through point boundary. Warner then smacks a loose ball through midwicket. Next one is short and Warner guides it through square leg boundary. He is on fire here. Umesh bowls again and drifts down leg and Warner gets a brace. Next shot is majestic as Warner kneels down and smashes it past mid-off for four. The 5th ball is guided down towards fine-leg boundary for four. Another boundary as Warner hits through vacant midwicket region. India off to a poor start!

Next ball Rohit misfields at cover as the batsmen run two. Finch then hits a sublime shot through mid-off boundary as Umesh watches. Two more runs come from that over.
