The counting of votes for all 42 Lok Sabha election 2019 seats in West Bengal began at 8 am on Thursday. The exit polls have predicted two scenarios in the state – one in which Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress continues to rule the roost and another where BJP makes a dent in the TMC fort.

* Ranaghat BJP candidate Jagannath Sarkar beats his rival TMC's Rupali Biswas by more than 1.5 lakh votes.
* Trends at 5:00 pm: Trinamool leading on 23 out of 42 seats while BJP ahead on 18 seats.
* Trends at 5:00 pm: Trinamool leading on 25 out of 42 seats while BJP ahead on 15 seats.
* Trinamool MP Dinesh Trivedi is now leading over BJP's Arjun Singh by a thin margin of 2370 votes.
* Popular Tollywood actor and TMC candidate Dev (Deepak Adhikari) leading from Ghatak constituency. He won the seat in 2014 too.
* Trends at 3:40 pm: BJP now leading on 20 out of 42 seats, Trinamool on 21 seats.
* From Barrackpore constituency, BJP candidate Arjun Singh is leading over his nearest opponent TMC MP Dinesh Trivedi by a thin margin of 8525 votes.
* West Bengal seems to be headed for a saffron surge, with the BJP leading in 19 seats and the ruling All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) ahead in 22 out of 42 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state.
