Mumbai: A footage of members of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) attacking several people, presumed to be non-Maharashtrians, in Maharashtra's Sangli emerged on social media on Wednesday.

The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) Kupwad workers have reportedly demanded that local youth be given preference during hiring in the regions industries.

In the video montage, several MNS workers were seen chasing some persons, thrashing them and later beating them up.

MNS, founded by Raj Thackeray, has a history of attacking non-Maharashtrians. In 2008, party members attacked several migrants from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, following clashes with Samajwadi Party.

In September 2016, MNS workers thrashed fruit-vendor in Ghatkopar (East) area in Mumbai asking him not to work in the city.
