New Delhi: All eyes are on Xiaomi's new array of products the company is going to launch in 2017. One of the most awaited among them is the next generation of its smartphones i.e.Mi6, which Xiaomi is expected to launch in mid-March this year.

According to GizmoChina, a Chinese publication report, Xiaomi is likley to launch Mi6 around mid-March, while the trial production of the device is to begin in February.

Though rumours are abuzz that Xiaomi is likely to unveil the smartphone at MWC 2017 in February in Barcelona, Xiaomi has not made ant announcement regarding the same.

This is how Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to look like:

The Mi 6 is rumoured to be laced with dual-tone design with metal back, a home button below the display that also doubles up as a fingerprint sensor.

The regular version is likely to have a flat screen LCD display, but the 'Pro’ variant would feature a dual-edge curved OLED display. Some reports also hint at dual-rear camera module on the ‘Pro’ variant.

The Mi 6 is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s 835 SoC with OLED panel and 2K display. Xiaomi is likely to offer the one with 4GB of RAM and 128GB storage, and the other with 6GB of RAM and 256GB storage. The other variant could be powered by MediaTek’s Helio X30 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. 

The Mi 6 is likely to sport an upgraded 12-megapixel Sony IMX362 sensor and  a 4-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies is also expected.  The Mi 6 could include a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer, and run on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Mi 6 price could start at RMB 1,999 (approximately Rs 19,800 ) for MediaTek version.

The Qualcomm version with 4GB of RAM + 128GB storage is likely to cost RMB 2,499 (approximately Rs 24,800).

The ‘Pro’ variant with dual-edge curved OLED display, 6GB of RAM + 256GB storage could be priced at RMB 2,999 (approximately Rs 29,600).
