A hardcore Maoist was arrested on Wednesday from Bhimbundh forest area in Bihar's Munger district, a police officer said.

Munger: A hardcore Maoist was arrested on Wednesday from Bhimbundh forest area in Bihar's Munger district, a police officer said.

Acting on a tip off, the police raided a hideout and nabbed the ultra, identified as Dhanik Lal Pandit, Superintendent of Police Barun Kumar Sinha said.

A native of Goghladih village, Pandit was wanted in connection with a landmine blast in the district on April 10, 2014, in which two CRPF jawans were killed, he said.

A hardcore Maoist and member of the proscribed outfit's hit squad, there were five other cases of naxal violence lodged against him, the SP said.
