Pappu Yadav gets anticipatory bail

Patna: Jan Adhikar Party founder Pappu Yadav was on Monday granted anticipatory bail by a local court here in connection with a case lodged against him for allegedly disrupting public servants from discharging duties during a stir last month.

District judge Virendra Singh granted the anticipatory bail to Yadav, a Lok Sabha MP from Madhepura, after hearing a petition moved by his counsel.

Patna police had lodged a case against 1100 people, including Yadav under sections Indian Penal Code (IPC) for disrupting public servants from discharging duties during an agitation here by un-aided educational institutions in Bihar on August 3.

In the FIR lodged at Gandhi Maidan police station, the police had alleged that the Madhepura MP was found leading a protest at busy Dak Bunglow round-about on the day and the agitators led by him disrupted road traffic despite being asked by it not to agitate in the restricted area.
