Shahabuddin's release: Victim's kin appeals to PM Modi, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for protection

Patna: Chandrakeshwar Prasad, or Chanda Babu of Siwan, who lost three of his four sons to murder, on Tuesday appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for protection for his family, days after dreaded 'bahubali' Shahabuddin was released from the Bhagalpur jail.

"Now, when Shahabuddin has been released from the jail, I appeal to Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Nitish to arrange for protection for my family. I also urge the government to ensure justice for my three sons who were brutally murdered by Shahabuddin," Chanda Babu told CNN-News18.

The 2014 murder of Chandra Babu’s son Rajiv Roshan is the case in which Shahabuddin has got bail. Rajiv was witness to the 2004 murders of his brothers Gitish and Satish, who were drenched in acid. The trial for Rajiv Roshan’s murder is yet to start.

At present, Babu lives with his ailing wife Kalawati Devi and his fourth son, who is disabled, in a one room hovel in Siwan.

"My sons Girish and Satish were kidnapped in 2004 by Shahabuddin’s men and killed by pouring acid at Pratappur. Rajiv, the elder son, was kidnapped but he escaped. When he returned to Siwan in 2014, he too was murdered," says Chanda Babu, who was once a well-known businessman.

Rajiv was killed in front of his father just 21 days after his marriage.
