Wanted Maoist arrested in Bihar

A Maoist, carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head was arrested from a village in Bihar's Jamui district, a police officer said on Sunday.

Jamui: A Maoist, carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head was arrested from a village in Bihar's Jamui district, a police officer said on Sunday.

Acting on a tip off, a police team led by Superintendent of Police (SP), Operation, DN Pandey raided Banadih village last night and arrested the hardcore Maoist.

He has been identified as Janaki Yadav who was hiding at the residence of his relative, SP Jayant Kant said.

A native of Dudhania village of the district, Yadav, said to be a self-styled area platoon commander of the proscribed CPI (Maoist), was wanted in over a dozen cases of naxal violence, Kant said.
