Chennai: In a shocking case of drunk driving, a law student rammed his Porsche car into parked autos on the city's Cathedral Road killing one auto driver and injuring several others.

The incident occurred at around 3:30 am on Monday when Vikas Vijayanand, 22, lost control of his high-end car and hit the median and then crashed into autos parked on the roadside.

The auto drivers were sleeping in their autos and were caught unawares when death came in front of them in the form a blue Porsche.

As per a report in the Deccan Chronicle, Vikas is the son of supreme court lawyer Vijay Anand.

The report adds that Vikas, along with his friend who is said to be a former cricketer's brother, was returning from a party held at Chepauk. Both of them escaped unhurt as airbags were deployed when the car hit the median.

The police have arrested the accused and are investigating the case further.
