New Delhi: Security was tightened at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence and office at Secretariat building on Wednesday evening after cops received a phone call in which the caller threatened to blow up the Delhi CM.

The Delhi Police conducted a thorough check of both the locations and declared the call as hoax.

"The control room received the call at around 4.30 PM and the caller told the police to do whatever they can to save Kejriwal and that he would blow him up in an hour," a senior police official said.

The alert was forwarded to Delhi Police's Central district where the Secretariat comes and North district where Kejriwal's residence comes.

Police told that the call was made through Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service and efforts are being made to trace the origin of the call and the caller. (With agency inputs)
