Expose on DDCA: 'Contracts were awarded to fake companies', reveals BJP MP Kirti Azad

New Delhi: Speaking on the irregularities in  Delhi and District Cricket Association, BJP leader Kirti Azad on Sunday said that corruption has happened in DDCA.

Addressing the media, Azad said, "DDCA gave money to a lot of companies and nature of work was never told. They were fake companies."

Before starting the address, Azad clarified that he is not against any individual, but corruption.

“I'm a big fan of PM Narendra Modi and appreciate his efforts to curb corruption but whatever I will say here should not be taken personally by anyone,” he said.

He began the press conference by playing an audio-video footage.

“The addresses mentioned in DDCA bills are wrong. Companies were paid through cash not cheque. Laptops' rent was Rs 16,000 a day and printers' rent was Rs 3000 a day. BCCI made payments without any investigation.,” revealed video.

Video also mentioned the role of VK Agarwal & co and Engineers Pvt Ltd.

"Contract were given out to fraud companies, payments were made, without any verification, said Azad.

"Fake mobile numbers mentioned in bills were submitted to accounts," he added.

The Aam Aadmi Party has alleged huge financial bunglings in DDCA during Union Minister Arun Jaitley's 13-year-old tenure as its chief, saying large amounts were siphoned off through fake companies besides other irregularities including in team selection.
