New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday issued a notice to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders on a defamation suit filed by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley against them.

Joint Registrar K Venugopal directed Kejriwal, Kumar Vishwas, Raghav Chadha, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh and Deepak Bajpai to file their reply by February 05, 2016.

Chadha, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh and Bajpai were present in the court.

The court also asked Kejriwal and other leaders to file original documents relating to the allegations.

Jaitley had on Monday filed both civil and criminal defamation cases against Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders, seeking Rs 10 crore in damages for accusing him of corruption when he headed the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).

Kejriwal took on Jaitley from the day the CBI raided his principal secretary Rajendra Kumar for alleged corruption.

Noted lawyer Ram Jethmalani is defending Kejriwal in the Delhi High Court.

Jaitley has refuted the allegations against him, saying the DDCA when headed by him gave a "proper" cricket stadium to the national capital.

Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah has defended Jaitley, saying he was respected for his honesty and integrity.
