New Delhi: A day after former Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) MLA Bharat Singh was shot dead in a suspected case of gang-war in south-west Delhi's Najafgarh area, CCTV footage recorded shortly after the shooting has emerged which might have possible connections with the incident.

The CCTV footage, which was recorded outside the gate of Abhinandan Vatika, where Singh was shot dead, shows several people running out of the venue after the shooting.

The video shows a man, apparently carrying a gun, running towards his motorcycle and then speeding away.

The camera then shows other people rushing to their car and then driving away.

However, it is yet to be probed whether those people captured on CCTV have any connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi said that police is investigating the case and hope to catch the culprits soon.

“We are working on some definite clues. The officers of south-west district are working on this case. Apart from this our crime branch and special cell is also helping them. We are hopeful that we will nab the assailants soon,” Bassi was quoted by ANI.

The condition of two of the five men wounded in the attack remained critical today, police said.

"Ram Jeevan and Dalbir are in critical condition," Deputy Commissioner of Police RA Sanjeev told IANS. The shooting took place at a religious event.

The other three who were wounded are Sunita, a woman, Paras, 16, and a Delhi Police constable, Sandeep. Sunita and Sandeep were discharged while Paras, who was shot in his stomach, was still in hospital.

"An FIR has been registered against unknown persons," the officer said. "We are looking for people who came in SUV cars and stormed the venue with pistols and fired at Bharat Singh."
